Sea Otter Habitats
Sea otters usually live in the northern and western Pacific Coasts, around areas such as Canada, California, Oregon, Washington, Mexico, Russia, Japan, and Alaska. Sea otters spend most of their lives in the ocean, in kelp forests. Otters often drape kelp over themselves to keep from drifting away.
